Spending 15 days in Puglia, in southern Italy, is like stepping back in time, bathed in sunshine, authentic flavors, and that Italian hospitality that makes all the difference. From the very first moment, you understand why this region is attracting more and more travelers seeking authenticity. Here, the light is unique, almost golden, and accompanies every moment of the day, from sunrise to sunset.
Located in the “heel of the boot,” Puglia offers a perfect blend of crystal-clear sea, whitewashed villages, and peaceful countryside. Whether you stay near Bari, the region’s vibrant capital, or in more secluded spots like Ostuni or Polignano a Mare, each day is an invitation to slow down and savor the moment.
The sun is undoubtedly one of the main attractions of this trip. For 15 days, it sets the rhythm of the days with an almost meditative consistency. Mornings often begin gently, with a strong coffee enjoyed on a terrace, as the heat gradually rises. Afternoons invite swimming in crystal-clear, turquoise waters, or a siesta in the shade of centuries-old olive trees. And then there are those magical evenings, when the light slowly fades, enveloping the villages in a warm and soothing atmosphere.
But beyond the climate, what truly stands out is the Italian hospitality. In Puglia, the welcome is sincere, spontaneous, almost familial. Whether in a small village trattoria or during a simple chat in an alleyway, you immediately feel this warmth. The locals take the time to talk, to offer advice, to share a piece of their daily lives. This closeness creates an experience quite different from more touristy and impersonal destinations.
Life in Italy here moves at a unique pace. It's easy to forget about the urgency and hectic schedules. Meals become genuine moments of pleasure and sharing. It's impossible not to succumb to the richness of the local cuisine: homemade orecchiette, creamy burrata, locally produced olive oil… Each dish tells a story and reflects a know-how passed down through generations.
Strolling through historic centers is also an integral part of the experience. The narrow streets, whitewashed facades, and flower-filled balconies all invite contemplation. In Alberobello, the famous trulli offer an almost surreal setting, while in Lecce, the Baroque architecture impresses with its richness and elegance. Each place has its own identity and atmosphere, and deserves to be explored at length.
This 15-day stay in Puglia is also an opportunity to reconnect with what truly matters. Here, there's no need for a packed itinerary to fully enjoy yourself. A stroll along the seafront, a local market, an impromptu dinner… simple pleasures take on their full meaning. You rediscover the taste of authentic things, far removed from the superfluous.
In short, Puglia embodies a certain idea of travel: a perfect balance between relaxation, discovery, and cultural immersion. The ever-present sun enhances the landscapes and everyday moments. Italian hospitality creates lasting memories. And this characteristic laid-back lifestyle makes you want to extend your stay well beyond those 15 days.
If you're looking for an unspoiled destination in Italy, where you can both recharge and immerse yourself in a unique way of life, Puglia is undoubtedly an ideal choice. An experience to be had at least once… and one you'll often want to repeat.
That day, I was accompanying a group of young people in BTS (Advanced Vocational Training Certificate) for a mountain outing in the Hautes-Alpes.
The goal was not simply to walk, but to discover nature in a different way: to observe, understand and take the time to immerse oneself in the environment.
⸻
🟢 THE OUTING SCHEDULE
From the very first steps, the rhythm naturally adapts to the group.
Some are discovering hiking, others are more comfortable, but very quickly a dynamic is created.
We gradually leave the most frequented paths to join a quieter route, conducive to observation.
Hiking becomes an exploration.
⸻
🟢 A PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH TO THE MOUNTAINS
With this group of BTS students, hiking takes on a special dimension.
There are many exchanges:
– Why are some areas protected?
– How can we observe animals without disturbing them?
– What is the impact of humans in the mountains?
These moments allow us to better understand the functioning of alpine ecosystems, but also to become aware of their fragility.
⸻
🟢 OBSERVE THE WILDLIFE AND FLORA
The mountains of the Hautes-Alpes are a rich terrain for observation.
As the outing progresses, the group discovers:
•Marmots in the alpine pastures
• Traces of chamois on the slopes
•different species of alpine flowers
Learning to observe without disturbing is an integral part of the experience.
⸻
🟢 AN EXPERIENCE SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE
Even with a heterogeneous group, it is possible to offer an accessible and enriching outing.
The important thing is not the performance, but the experience lived.
Taking the time, stopping, exchanging ideas… that’s often where hiking takes on its full meaning.
⸻
🟢 A UNIQUE PLAYGROUND IN THE HAUTES-ALPES
Around Embrun, the Serre-Ponçon lake and in the Queyras, there are many hiking opportunities.
Each sector offers different landscapes and allows you to experience this type of activity in the heart of nature, away from the crowds.
⸻
🟢 CONCLUSION
This outing with the vocational students perfectly illustrates what hiking can be today:
a moment of sharing, discovery and raising awareness about the environment.
Much more than just a sporting activity, it's a different way of approaching the mountains.

What if happiness could be found in the simplest things?
No need to go far or plan a complex event. Sometimes, all it takes is a nighttime family hike, a campfire, and some food to grill to create an unforgettable experience.
That's exactly what we did during this mountain outing: a simple, authentic evening, far from everyday life, where time seems to stand still.
There's something special about hiking at night. The sounds change, the landmarks change, and you rediscover familiar places from a different perspective.
That evening, the goal was not performance, but sharing. A leisurely walk, suitable for children, by the light of headlamps, in a calm and soothing atmosphere.
You don't need to be a great athlete to enjoy this type of outing. On the contrary, simplicity is what makes the experience so rich.
Once we arrived at our spot, we took the time to settle in and light a fire.
The crackling of the wood, the warmth of the flames, the glances that meet… that’s all it takes to create a unique atmosphere.
We simply grilled some food: a few sausages, some bread, and the pleasure of sharing this moment together.
Nothing complicated, nothing exceptional on the surface… and yet, it is often in these moments that the most beautiful memories are born.
In an often busy daily life, these moments take on a special value.
Without screens or distractions, everyone fully enjoys the present moment. Discussions are more genuine, laughter more spontaneous.
Night hiking then becomes much more than just an activity: it's a moment of connection, with nature but also with each other.
Back to basics
This evening reminds us of a simple thing: happiness is not necessarily found in complex or expensive experiences.
Sometimes it's right there, within reach. A walk, a fire, a shared meal and a few stars above our heads.
Nature offers everything we need to slow down, refocus and enjoy the moment.
Why try a night hike?
Night hiking is an accessible and original experience, ideal to enjoy with family or friends.
It allows you to discover nature in a different way, to experience a timeless moment and to create strong memories.
If you wish to discover this type of experience in complete safety, I also offer guided outings to fully enjoy the mountains, both day and night.
Between media catastrophism and the reality on the ground
A few days before our departure, the initial excitement gave way to a certain apprehension among some participants. The reason? A weather forecast announcing a high avalanche risk. In the mainstream media, the headlines were alarmist, advising against almost any outdoor activity.
This is where the role of a hiking guide (or more precisely, a mountain leader) becomes crucial. While vigilance is essential, the mountains are not "closed" as soon as the risk increases; they simply require a more nuanced approach, an expertise that only a seasoned snowshoeing guide can provide.
Immersing oneself in the Saint-Véran valley in the heart of winter is an unforgettable experience. Recently, I had the pleasure of leading a group on a three-day trek to the Refuge de la Blanche, a veritable eagle's nest perched at 2,500 meters altitude. While the landscapes of the upper Queyras valley are always spectacular, this outing was above all a concrete demonstration of what mountain safety truly means.
The real mountain versus media catastrophism
Even before we left, the atmosphere was unusual. Weather reports and mainstream media were full of alarming messages: a high avalanche risk was looming over the mountain range. For the general public, this information can be paralyzing, creating a fear that sometimes obscures the more nuanced reality on the ground. Many would have cancelled, thinking the mountain was "closed" or impassable.
However, once there, the reality was quite different. This is where the role of a hiking guide truly comes into its own. Where the media delivers a broad and often anxiety-inducing analysis, themountain guide provides a nuanced, local perspective. By analyzing the snowpack structure, the slope orientation, and the valley's wind history, we were able to confirm that safe and magnificent routes remained perfectly accessible.
Adaptation: The professional's signature
Our stay at the Refuge de la Blanche wasn't a struggle against the elements, but a harmonious adaptation to them. As a snowshoeing guide, my job was to filter information to focus only on what was truly safe. Once there, we realized that the danger was far less widespread than we had feared.
That's also what having a mountain professional with you is all about: knowing how to adapt the route according to the conditions.
Rather than venturing into areas of uncertainty, we favored windswept ridges, wide valley bottoms, and gently sloping terrain. We were able to navigate between frozen lakes and iconic peaks like the Tête des Toillies with complete peace of mind. This flexibility allowed the group to fully enjoy the magic of fresh snow without ever exposing themselves unnecessarily.
More than a ride, a transmission
This three-day experience proved that with rigorous preparation, the mountains remain a space of freedom, even when risk levels rise. Hiring a snowshoeing guidemeans indulging in the luxury of peace of mind. You don't just follow a trail; you learn to observe, to understand why you're going here rather than there, and to distinguish between necessary caution and irrational fear.
The Queyras, with its unique light and winter silence, offered us its very best. By adapting our route at every moment, we transformed a situation deemed "critical" by some into an unforgettable memory of camaraderie and wild discovery.
Turin is a city that never fully reveals itself at first glance. You think you know it after admiring the Mole Antonelliana or walking the cobblestones of Piazza Castello, but the Piedmontese capital is a treasure trove of secrets. Recently, I returned there with a specific goal: to unearth hidden gems to completely revitalize my touring services.
As a tour guide and hiking leader, my mission never stops at simply following a set itinerary. Travel is a living, breathing thing. This summer, I'll be taking you off the beaten path every Saturday to show you that Turin and its surroundings still have so much to offer.
The art of reinvention: More than a profession, a requirement
Why return to explore the same neighborhoods yet again? Because the profession of a tour guide demands constant adaptation. Today's travelers are no longer simply looking for dates and historical facts; they seek immersion, emotion, and above all, exclusivity.
My return to Turin was driven by this desire to offer innovative tours. Whether it's stepping through the door of a little-known Baroque palace or finding the ridge path that offers the most beautiful view of the Turin skyline at sunset, each scouting trip is a promise of quality for my clients.
Between city and mountain: The dual role of the hiking guide
My unique quality lies in this duality: I am equally at ease in art galleries as on the rugged trails of Piedmont. Turin has the incredible advantage of being a royal metropolis surrounded by majestic peaks.
• In the morning: An immersion in the unusual Turin, that of white magic, historic 19th-century cafes and rehabilitated industrial architecture.
• Afternoon: A transition to guided hiking in the surrounding hills or in nearby nature parks, where nature reclaims its rights.
Adapting means knowing how to read the terrain. It means understanding that some Saturdays you'll crave culture, and other Saturdays you'll need the fresh air of the Alps.
New for Summer 2026: My Saturday appointments
For this summer season, I've designed a calendar of outings that breaks with the conventions of mass tourism. Every Saturday, I offer you a different themed experience.
"A good guide is not one who knows the way, but one who knows how to make the journey unforgettable by showing what no one else sees."
Here's a preview of what awaits you:
1. Turin “Secret & Design”: A route focused on hidden courtyards and new hubs of contemporary creation.
2. Hiking-Gastronomy: An active walk on panoramic trails followed by a tasting of local products in a traditional piola (tavern) known only to locals.
3. The Green Heritage: An exploration of royal parks and hanging gardens, combining botanical history and relaxation.
Why choose a guide that reinvents itself?
By choosing my tours, you're not just booking a service; you're joining an adventure designed to spark curiosity. The SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of my approach rests on simple pillars: local expertise, authenticity, and personalization.
The current demand is clear: you want flexibility. That's why my itineraries are customizable. As a hiking and cultural guide, I strive to meet this need for tailor-made experiences. Constantly creating new outings is my way of combating routine and offering you the very best of Italy.
Ready for the adventure?
Summer is the perfect season to rediscover Turin in a new light. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or an urban stroller, my latest gems are waiting for you.
Places for Saturday tours are limited to ensure a friendly and personalized experience. Don't miss the opportunity to see Turin with fresh eyes, guided by someone whose life's work is discovery.
Winter is in full swing. For many, it's time to head for the snow-covered peaks, carve turns in the powder, and enjoy the hushed silence of the forests under their white blanket. As amountain guide, winter is usually my favorite season. I love nothing more than sharing the magic of a snowshoe hike, that suspended moment where only the crunch of snow under our feet breaks the tranquility of nature.
However, this year I felt the need to take a break. A real one. A necessary break to come back stronger.
The art of knowing when to stop in order to start again better
We often imagine hiking guides as tireless machines, always ready to tackle even more elevation gain. But the reality on the ground also demands constant mental and physical exertion. After weeks spent traversing the terrain and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of my groups, my body and mind craved a change of scenery.
Taking a break in the middle of winter might seem paradoxical, but it's a luxury I allow myself to preserve my passion. It's in this silence, far from intense physical exertion, that I find the energy I need to be with you tomorrow. To recharge, I've decided to leave the mountains and head for the coast.
The seaside: The mountain's inverted mirror
Moving from the white of the peaks to the blue of the ocean creates a cathartic sensory shock. Where the mountains impose their verticality and harshness, the seaside offers a soothing horizontality.
Walking on the sand is nothing like snowshoeing. The rhythm changes, breathing synchronizes with the ebb and flow of the tides. The salty air replaces the dry mountain air, and this saline humidity has an almost immediate effect on recovery. This interlude allowed me to completely disconnect from the logistical constraints and constant vigilance required by my job as a tour guide.
For a few days, I didn't check the weather to see if the avalanche risk was 3 or 4. I only checked it to see if I would be able to see the sunset over the water.
When the sea horizon inspires future summits
One might think I'm leaving to forget about work. Quite the opposite. By stepping off my usual path, I open new doors in my mind. The seaside is, for me, a vast laboratory of ideas.
It's while observing the coastal paths, the jagged cliffs, and the small fishing ports that my imagination as a hiking guide is sparked. This break has allowed me to reflect on the planning of my future trips.
• How can I incorporate this feeling of freedom into my next mountain outings?
• What new routes could offer such unobstructed and rejuvenating views?
• Is now the time to create hybrid holidays, combining culture, gastronomy and active walking?
Being a good mountain guidemeans knowing how to reinvent yourself. These moments of wandering in the face of the vast sea give me the perspective I need to refine the details of my next trips. I return with notebooks filled with new themes, itinerary variations, and a renewed desire to share these discoveries with you.
Conclusion: An imminent return to the trails
This invigorating seaside interlude is drawing to a close. I can already feel the call of the snow and the urge to put my snowshoes back on. But I'm leaving with something extra: a renewed sense of peace and a clearer vision of what I want to offer you for the rest of the season and for the coming summer.
Knowing how to listen to yourself is the most important quality of a guide. By taking care of my own need to disconnect, I ensure that I can offer you the best of myself during our upcoming adventures.
We'll soon be back on the trails, with renewed energy and, who knows, a few surprises inspired by the open sea!

We often picture the Cinque Terre under a blazing sun, stifled by impatient crowds and the incessant clicking of cameras. But for those who know how to travel against the grain, January offers a completely different face to this Italian Riviera. It's a suspended interlude, a time when nature and the villages reclaim their space. If you're looking for an authentic hiking experience, far from the hustle and bustle, now's the time to lace up your boots.
The luxury of emptiness: rediscovering the soul of villages
The first thing that strikes hikers arriving in the Cinque Terre at this time of year is the silence. This territory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is usually one of the most frequented in Italy. In the depths of winter, the transformation is radical.
The steep, winding streets of Riomaggiore and Vernazza are no longer mere thoroughfares for tourist groups, but vibrant places to live. You might encounter the postman, fishermen busy at work on their colorful boats (gozzi), and a few cats stretching in the sun on centuries-old stone steps. For hikers, this relative seclusion is an absolute luxury. You no longer need to hurry or apologize for passing on the narrow paths. The landscape is yours to enjoy. You can stop for ten minutes to contemplate the horizon, with no sound other than the wind rustling through the pines and the gentle lapping of the Ligurian Sea below.
Perfect weather: mild temperatures and golden light
Liguria's other well-kept secret is its microclimate. Sheltered by the mountains, the five villages enjoy surprisingly mild temperatures, even in the heart of winter. While the rest of Europe shivers, temperatures here often hover between 12°C and 15°C in the afternoon.
In my opinion, this is the perfect temperature for hiking. You avoid the oppressive summer heat that makes the climbs to Corniglia so exhausting. Under the January sun, the effort is pleasant, almost easy. The light, meanwhile, is a photographer's dream: the sun, lower on the horizon, doesn't flatten the landscape. It bathes the ochre facades and terraced vineyards in a soft, warm, golden light that enhances every corner of the cliffs. The sky, often washed clean by the sea breeze, displays a pure blue, without any heat haze to obscure the view.
A nature that breathes
Hiking at this time of year also means observing a wilder, almost raw, nature. The paths that wind between the olive groves and vineyards of Sciacchetrà seem to breathe again. The air is filled with a salty scent and the fragrance of wild herbs that line the dirt tracks.
The contrast is striking: you go from the warmth of a sunbeam on an exposed ridge to the coolness of a holm oak undergrowth. This alternation is invigorating. And then there's that unique feeling of being alone facing the immensity of the sea. The coastal paths, which connect the villages, offer spectacular viewpoints where the horizon seems to stretch to infinity, without a single cruise ship to break the blue line.
Authenticity restored
Traveling when others aren't allows you to experience the Cinque Terre from the inside. After a long hike, settling down on a terrace for a coffee or a focaccia becomes a moment of genuine connection. Shopkeepers and locals have the time. The interaction is simpler, more authentic. You don't just consume the landscape; you inhabit it for a day.
In conclusion, if you're someone who prefers birdsong to the hustle and bustle of the city, and the warmth of a winter sun to the summer heat, then the Cinque Terre at this time of year is the obvious choice. It's a sensory hike, a journey for yourself, where every step brings you a little closer to an eternal and unspoiled Italy
Today, I experienced an unforgettable day that warmed my heart and stirred up a flood of memories. I had the immense pleasure of sharing a mountain outing with about a hundred members of the French Navy. It was much more than just a hike; it was a bridge between my old life and my new passion.
The call of the peaks and navy blue
The setting for our meeting was breathtaking: the snow-capped peaks of the region, a landscape that rivals the vast ocean expanses. Watching these young men and women, proud representatives of the institution I served, skiing on the slopes was a source of both pride and nostalgia.
The goal of the day was to introduce people to the joys of snow. I was able to draw on my current experience as a mountain professional. For the occasion, we had chosen a beautiful loop in the area. That's where my expertise as a Snowshoeing Guide came into play.
A Snowshoeing Guide to Les Orres
The choice fell on a magnificent area, not far from the Les Orres resort. It's terrain I know well and where I enjoy guiding my groups. When discussing snowshoeing, the keyword " Guide to Snowshoeing in Les Orres" often comes up in my searches, as this region offers a range of exceptional trails, suitable for all levels. The snow depth was perfect for snowshoeing, allowing us to venture off the beaten track in complete safety.
Guided by standard procedures – equipment checks, group progression rules, and the inevitable snowpack stability tests – the team demonstrated the same rigor and discipline expected of them on board. The transition from navy blue uniforms to mountaineering gear was remarkably smooth.
We exchanged technical advice on the best way to climb on a slope, to master the descent, but also, and above all, we shared stories. Tales of the sea, anecdotes from missions, the offshore wind replaced, for a day, by the wind of the mountain peaks.
More than an outing, a reminiscence
This sharing was all the more valuable to me as I myself had the honor of serving France under the flag of the French Navy. When I was a sailor, I learned resilience, teamwork and the importance of vigilance – essential qualities, whether on the high seas or in the high mountains.
Seeing that camaraderie again, hearing the laughter and genuine mutual support among them, brought back memories of my best years. It's an invisible bond, an unbreakable connection forged over watches and port calls. The pleasure of guiding them today was, in a way, a sense of coming full circle: from the discipline of the bridge to the freedom of the ridges.
The French Navy is a large family, and it's always moving to get together, even far from the sea. It's an opportunity to show them that there are other horizons after enlisting, while offering them a moment of camaraderie and escape from operational constraints.
The Taste of Adventure, at Sea as in the Mountains
At the end of this invigorating day, fatigue was present, but morale was high. The sailors were able to appreciate another type of hostile environment, just as demanding, but with the satisfaction of having successfully adapted to it.
It was an honor to accompany them. I hope I was able to share some of the passion that drives me today as a Snowshoeing Guide. Thank you to them for this genuine moment of sharing, which proves that camaraderie doesn't end at the dock.
And if you too would like to learn or improve your snowshoeing skills in the beautiful Orres region, don't hesitate to contact me!
Fair winds.
Winter is fast approaching, and with it, the promise of snow-covered landscapes, the rediscovered silence of the forest, and wide-open spaces to explore freely. As every year, I'm taking advantage of this pre-season period to meticulously prepare all the snowshoeing trips I'll be offering this winter. My goal: to provide you with authentic, safe experiences perfectly suited to your skill level. To achieve this, nothing replaces scouting the terrain, essential work that I'm currently undertaking in various mountain areas.
As a snowshoeing guide, I always make it a point of honor to plan high-quality routes, identify key passages, and assess the specific conditions of each area. This advance preparation allows me to guarantee tailor-made outings, designed for your enjoyment, safety, and wonder.
⸻
❄️ Reconnaissance in Crevoux: immersion in a wild setting
First stop on my winter scouting trip: Crevoux, a true gem nestled in the heart of the valley. This area is one of my favorite playgrounds in winter, especially for its tranquility and the beauty of its forests.
Here, I map out different possible routes depending on snow conditions, wind, and the evolution of the snowpack. The goal is to offer several snowshoeing options: accessible walks to gently discover the activity, as well as more challenging outings for those seeking a more strenuous effort.
Crevoux offers varied terrain, ideal for creating personalized outings tailored to your level and desires. My scouting trips allow me to identify the safest, most aesthetically pleasing, and most interesting places to explore from a heritage perspective.
⸻
❄️ Les Orres: diverse landscapes and magnificent panoramas
I'm continuing my preparations in the Orres, known for its vast larch forests and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. As a snowshoeing guide, I'm spending several days there exploring new trails, checking access points, their condition, and areas that could be vulnerable in bad weather.
Les Orres offers a wide variety of atmospheres: clearings, valleys, accessible ridges… So many possibilities for creating varied outings, suitable for families as well as more experienced hikers.
Each reconnaissance allows me to adjust my routes and anticipate the best options to offer depending on the groups: contemplation outing, sports outing, sunrise outing or even night outing.
⸻
❄️ Serre-Ponçon: unique routes between lake and mountains
area Serre-Ponçon, a place where the contrast between the lake and the snow-covered peaks creates a simply magical atmosphere.
Here too, my reconnaissance is essential: it allows me to identify shaded areas, places where the snow is best preserved, and routes that offer the most beautiful views of the lake.
Serre-Ponçon is an ideal location for offering tailor-made snowshoeing excursions :
• Gentle routes with panoramic views,
•photo outings,
• Wilder routes for those who enjoy a more challenging mountain atmosphere.
The advantage of this sector is its variety, allowing the outing to be adapted to each person or group.
⸻
❄️ The Queyras: a territory of excellence for snowshoeing
Finally, a large part of my training takes place in the Queyras, an exceptional area for snowshoeing. Its unspoiled valleys, authentic villages, and high-altitude atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful locations for winter outings.
Here I am carrying out very precise reconnaissance work: identifying exposed passages, analyzing the terrain, observing areas of accumulation, and of course searching for the most beautiful viewpoints for your future photos.
The Queyras allows me to create tailor-made outings that are particularly rich: forest atmosphere, accessible passes, open plateaus, 360° panoramas, all while guaranteeing an optimal level of safety.
⸻
🎯 Conclusion: Snowshoeing outings designed for you
All these reconnaissance trips — Crevoux, Les Orres, Serre-Ponçon, the Queyras — have one goal: to prepare high-quality snowshoeing trips, tailored to you.
As a Snowshoeing Guide, my role is to accompany you safely and offer you an unforgettable experience, whether you are a beginner or a mountain enthusiast.
Thanks to this precise scouting work, I can offer you tailor-made outings, unique and perfectly adapted to the conditions of the coming winter.
👉 If you wish to have an authentic mountain experience this winter, I would be delighted to guide you on these carefully prepared routes.
Being a mountain guideis much more than simply leading a group or choosing the most suitable route. It's a versatile, enriching, and profoundly human profession where passing on knowledge plays a vital role. Today, I had the opportunity to illustrate this lesser-known aspect of our profession by teaching at the GRETA in Gap, a training center dedicated to guiding adults. This day reminded me how sharing experience and training future enthusiasts is an integral part of a guide's mission, just as important as leading hikes in the field.
The profession of mountain guide is often associated with outdoor activities, panoramic views, wild trails, and the camaraderie of hiking groups. However, behind these images lies a much broader reality. To practice this profession, a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge is essential: map reading, navigation, safety, meteorology, group management, and understanding of natural environments. And to pass on all of this, field experience is invaluable, but so is pedagogical skill. This is precisely what I aimed to offer today at the GRETA in Gap, by working with trainees in the outdoor field and mountain-related professions.
Training future hiking guides or people wishing to work in outdoor activities is a fascinating exercise. Questions fly, discussions are rich, and everyone brings their own perspective on the mountains. This kind of day reminds me that learning doesn't just happen by walking on trails: it's also built through reflection, listening, and sharing past successes and mistakes. That's also what being a mountain guide is about: being able to transmit knowledge, explain, and guide in ways other than just by following the paths.
During this training, we covered essential topics: organizing an outing, preparing a route adapted to the group's abilities, managing changing weather conditions, risk prevention, and the importance of respecting the environment. These are all subjects that every hiking guide must master to ensure safety and enjoyment during an outing. Through concrete examples from real-world experience, I aimed to provide participants with practical tools to become responsible, aware, and independent guides.
This day at the GRETA training center in Gap also reminded me how multifaceted this profession is and how much adaptability it demands. One day you might be on a 2,500-meter peak, and the next in a training room. You could be guiding a group of beginners in the morning and advising tourism professionals in the afternoon. This diversity, far from being a mere bonus, is what makes our profession so rich and beautiful. It allows us to share the mountains in all their forms: practical, theoretical, human, and emotional.
Leaving the training center, I felt the satisfaction of having contributed, in my own way, to shaping the mountain guides of tomorrow. Training, passing on knowledge, sharing: yes, that's also part of our profession. And it's a mission I always carry out with pleasure.
There are places that seem to have been sculpted by the gods, so breathtaking is their beauty. The Verdon is one of them. Nestled between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Var, this canyon, resembling a mineral cathedral, fascinates with its grandeur, its vertiginous cliffs, and the emerald color of its river. Hiking in the Verdon is to plunge into a world apart, where each step reveals a breathtaking panorama and each path conceals a fragment of natural magic.
A magical setting between sky and water
The Verdon Gorge offers one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles in Europe. Imagine sheer cliffs rising up to 700 meters high, sparkling torrents winding between limestone walls, and pine forests where the cries of vultures echo. At dawn, the light reflects off the rock, and the river shimmers with turquoise hues. In the evening, the orange tones of the setting sun transform the landscape into a living painting.
This constant contrast between the power of the rock and the gentleness of the water gives the Verdon an almost mystical aura. Walking here makes you feel tiny in the face of the world's grandeur. It also makes you understand how nature, when respected, can offer emotions of rare intensity.
Trails for experienced hikers
But be warned: the Verdon is not a walk in the park. The hiking trails that wind through the canyon are renowned for their technical difficulty. They demand good physical condition, sure footing, and sometimes, a certain amount of composure when faced with heights.
Among the most famous trails, the Blanc-Martel trail is undoubtedly the most iconic. Approximately 15 kilometers long, it traverses the heart of the Verdon Gorge, between Point Sublime and La Maline. This route is a true microcosm of the Verdon: tunnels carved into the rock, footbridges suspended above the river, steep climbs, and precipitous descents. It's an unforgettable experience, but one that demands precision and caution.
The Imbut Trail, however, is for experienced hikers. Winding, steep, and often narrow, it leads to one of the canyon's most magical places: the Imbut Chaos, a rocky labyrinth where the river plunges deep into the limestone. This place, as wild as it is fascinating, inspires humility.
Why hire a hiking guide?
Given the complexity of these routes, being accompanied by a hiking guide or mountain leader is not a luxury, but a true guarantee of safety and peace of mind. These professionals know every nook and cranny of the Verdon: the tricky sections, the rockfall zones, and the weather conditions to watch out for.
A mountain guide also knows how to adapt the pace and route to the group's level, while sharing their knowledge of geology, fauna, flora, and local history. Thanks to them, hiking becomes a true immersion in the soul of the Verdon. You no longer simply walk: you understand the landscape, you experience it fully.
And let's face it: hiking with a guide also guarantees a more relaxed experience. You let yourself be guided, you look up at the vultures, you take the time to marvel without fear of getting lost.
The emotion of raw and vibrant nature
The Verdon is not just a setting: it is a total sensory experience. The scent of pine trees warmed by the sun, the murmur of water rushing through the gorges, the breath of the wind at the top of the cliffs… everything here awakens something deep.
When you reach a viewpoint after several hours of hiking, the reward is immense. Your gaze plunges into the void, the river below seems unreal, and you feel that pure emotion that only wide open spaces can offer. It's a form of escape, but also of reconnection: with yourself, with the earth, with all living things.
The Verdon, a place to respect and preserve
The beauty of the Verdon also demands responsibility. The trails are fragile, the natural environments sensitive. Respecting the signs, leaving nothing behind, and following the advice of a guide are all essential steps to preserve this jewel.
For while the Verdon captivates with its enchanting beauty, it is also a wild, sometimes harsh environment that deserves humility and respect. Hiking here means accepting the terrain's challenges in order to better appreciate its rewards.
⸻
Hiking in the Verdonis an unforgettable adventure, between sky and earth, between vertigo and wonder. Whether you are an experienced hiker or simply a nature lover, let yourself be tempted by this timeless escape — and if possible, accompanied by a hiking guide or mountain leader who will open the doors to this enchanting world.
Based between Embrun, Serre-Ponçon, Crévoux and Les Orres, I hike magnificent trails every day, winding through forests, alpine pastures and breathtaking panoramas. As a hiking guide, I love to share these landscapes in a different way, particularly through an original and charming experience: night hiking.
This outing, which I organize regularly, appeals to all ages. You don't need to be a serious athlete: the walk is gentle, accessible, and especially suitable for families. Children are often the most enthusiastic about setting off with headlamps and experiencing the mountains at night, in an atmosphere that is both mysterious and reassuring.
The magic of the mountains under the stars
We set off at the end of the day, as the sun gently sets over Lake Serre-Ponçon. The colors turn golden, then the blue of twilight settles in. Little by little, the first sounds of evening replace those of day: the wind in the branches, the hoot of an owl in the distance, the steady footsteps on the path…
As we climb, the stars reveal themselves. I like to take the time to talk about the sky, the constellations, and that special connection between man and the mountain at night. It's a simple, peaceful, and often magical moment.
A fire, laughter, and the joy of sharing
Once we arrive at our rest stop, we light a small fire. It's always a highlight of the evening. The wood crackles, the firelight warms our faces, and the atmosphere becomes cozy.
Families settle in, share a hot drink, exchange stories, or listen to the silence of the mountain. Children love to participate, gathering wood or roasting marshmallows — a memory they cherish for a long time!
A safe and accessible experience for everyone
As amountain guide, safety remains my top priority. Each route is chosen to be enjoyable, without any particular difficulties, and perfectly suited to families and occasional hikers. The pace is relaxed, breaks are frequent, and the hike always takes place in a friendly atmosphere.
This night hike around Embrun, between Crévoux, Les Orres lake Serre-Ponçon, is above all an experience to be lived: another way to discover the mountain, to get together and to share a unique moment under the stars.
So if you're looking for a moment of nature, tranquility, and conviviality, come and try the adventure! The mountains have a thousand faces, and the night reveals their most fascinating ones. 🌙
When you're a mountain guide in Embrun, you never really tire of exploring new paths. Even after years of traversing the Southern Alps, the curiosity remains intact: every season, every light, every little trail holds a surprise.
Last week, I took advantage of a beautiful autumn day to go scouting around Lake Serre-Ponçon, looking for new hikes to offer my clients for the next season.
Between Embrun and Serre-Ponçon: an endless playground
The Embrun region is a paradise for nature lovers. Between the larch forests, the panoramic ridges, and the shores of Lake Serre-Ponçon, the hiking possibilities are almost endless. As a hiking guide in Embrun, I always try to update my routes to offer a variety of experiences: gentle walks at sunrise, half-day family hikes, or challenging full-day treks.
This time, my idea was simple: to start from the heights of Puy-Sanières and Réallon to reconnoiter a balcony route overlooking the lake, accessible to the majority of hikers, but with that little "extra" that makes all the difference — a magnificent panorama and an authentic mountain atmosphere.
A scouting trip rich in discoveries
From the very first steps, the view of Serre-Ponçon is breathtaking. The lake shimmers between the mountains, and in the distance, the Aiguilles de Chabrières dominate the landscape. I had already led groups in this area, but never along this little forgotten path that winds through a pine forest before emerging onto a grassy ridge.
The trail is well-marked, with a few steeper sections but nothing too difficult. Ideal for an intermediate hike, perfect for a guided group. I took the time to note the points of interest: an old ruined hamlet, a secluded spring, and a natural viewpoint where you could have a picnic overlooking the lake.
This is the kind of reconnaissance that I am passionate about in my job as amountain guide in Serre-Ponçon : exploring, observing, imagining the route from the point of view of the future hiker, anticipating their emotions, their efforts, their moments of contemplation.
Why these recognitions are essential
Being a hiking guide in Serre-Ponçonisn't just about leading a group. It also involves observation and preparation. Before proposing a new route, I always walk it myself or with a colleague to check safety, trail markings, seasonal flora, and terrain conditions.
These outings also allow us to identify variations according to the levels of the participants: a shorter loop for families, a longer option for experienced walkers.
I often take advantage of these reconnaissance days to take photos, record the GPS track, and note the small details that make a hike so rich: a water point, a shaded area, a place conducive to observing chamois.
Routes for all tastes
Around Embrun and Lake Serre-Ponçon, the diversity of landscapes makes it possible to create circuits suitable for everyone.
•For families, the shores of the lake and the valleys near Embrun offer easy and fun walks, with swimming possible in summer.
•For lovers of panoramas, the ridges of Réallon, Morgon or Méale are not to be missed.
•For nature lovers, the routes around the streams and forests of Boscodon are perfect for observing the fauna and flora.
I am also preparing a new program for next year: themed hikes with the discovery of local heritage, wild plants and little-known viewpoints on the lake.
The pleasure of sharing
What motivates me most is seeing my clients discover these places for the first time. As amountain guide in Embrun, I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the terrain, but also the history of the villages, mountain legends, and the small actions that make hiking more enjoyable and environmentally friendly.
My role is to guide, of course, but also to create a connection between people and the landscape. These scouting days allow me to enrich my routes, to make each outing unique, and to continue to bring to life this exceptional territory that is Serre-Ponçon.
⸻
In conclusion
This reconnaissance trip around Embrun and Serre-Ponçon reminded me once again why I love this job.
Being a hiking guide in Embrunmeans being a little bit of an explorer, a little bit of an educator, and a lot of passionate people.
So if you are looking for a guided hike in Serre-Ponçon, between lake and mountains, come walk with me — I will show you these trails that I love so much, freshly discovered, and always ready to be shared.
The idea has been germinating for some time now: in 2026, I will embark on a hiking trip in the Dolomites. This project is not simply a mountain getaway, but a true adventure, meticulously planned, an immersion in a mountain range that embodies pure beauty. The Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage, fascinate as much as they inspire. Their jagged silhouette, limestone walls, and verdant valleys make them a unique place, at once powerful, calming, and endlessly photogenic.
This upcoming trip will be an opportunity to discover an extraordinary mountain range in every way. Here, the geology tells a story spanning millennia, the light transforms the landscape with every hour of the day, and the silence of the heights invites contemplation. At sunrise, the peaks blaze with golden hues, while at dusk, theEnrosadira colors the rock a deep, almost surreal pink. It is in this magical atmosphere that I hope to hike, guided by curiosity, passion, and the desire to understand this unique mountain.
To fully experience this, I plan to hire a hiking guide or mountain leader. These professionals do more than just lead the way: they share their knowledge, anecdotes, and, most importantly, they know the routes that lead to the most breathtaking panoramas. With a trekking guide, each day becomes a different exploration—through pine forests, high-altitude pastures, and mountain huts perched at over 2,000 meters.
The Dolomites offer an exceptional diversity of routes. Some trails invite quiet contemplation, others demand sustained effort, like the legendary Alta Via 1 and 2, which traverse the massif from north to south. For my preparation, I'm already researching the stages, the mountain huts, the elevation gains, and the best viewpoints: the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Lago di Braies, the Sella, and the Sassolungo, majestic emblems of this timeless region.
But this upcoming trip won't just be about sport. It will also be a human and cultural encounter. In the villages of Cortina d'Ampezzo, Ortisei , and Canazei, Ladin traditions are kept alive, mountain cuisine is savored, and hospitality remains genuine. These moments of exchange are an integral part of the spirit of hiking: moving forward, discovering, sharing.
In preparing for this hiking trip in the Dolomites for 2026, I'm not just planning a trek, but a true life experience. Walking in these magnificent mountains means reconnecting with what's essential, feeling the power of the elements, and rediscovering the sense of wonder.
The Dolomites are not traversed solely with the legs, but with the heart. And it is this emotion that I want to experience, up there, between sky and stone.
But now that the summer season is ending, the adventure continues… elsewhere! Time for hiking trips abroad to discover new horizons, experience longer treks and explore unique landscapes, always accompanied by a passionate guide.

If you are looking for a hiking guide in Embrun or a hiking guide around Serre-Ponçon, I now accompany you well beyond the Hautes-Alpes.
The adventure continues… and it's only just beginning!
Located in the Alpes-Maritimes, the Daluis and Cians gorges offer an exceptional playground for hiking enthusiasts. These veritable "red canyons" carved into the schist offer spectacular landscapes, but also demanding, sometimes vertiginous routes that require good physical condition and appropriate preparation.
Unique and contrasting landscapes
The intense red of the rocks, contrasting with the green of the vegetation and the blue of the Mediterranean sky, gives the gorges an almost surreal atmosphere. The Daluis, nicknamed the “Colorado of Nice,” impresses with its steep cliffs and tunnels carved directly into the rock. The Cians, even wilder, winds its way between narrow walls, sometimes so constricted that the river disappears from view.
The complexity of the routes
Hiking in these gorges is no easy stroll. The routes are often technical, with steep sections, significant elevation changes, and sometimes exposed paths. Navigation can be tricky, especially in the most enclosed parts of the gorge. That's why it's strongly recommended to be accompanied by a hiking guide or mountain leader. Their expertise not only ensures safe progress but also allows you to discover less frequented trails, off the beaten track.
Why go hiking in the mountains with a guide?
•Safety : knowing the tricky sections, anticipating weather conditions and adapting the route.
•Discovery : understanding the very particular geology of the red shale, the local fauna and flora.
•Enhanced experience : benefit from a pace adapted to the group, anecdotes and unusual points of view.
A hiking trip that is both sporty and contemplative
Choosing a hiking trip in the Daluis and Cians gorgesmeans opting for an experience that combines physical exertion with total immersion in unspoiled nature. The most athletic will find ideal terrain to push their limits, while lovers of breathtaking landscapes will be awestruck by the sheer power of the landscape.
This summer of 2025 will be one to remember! As a hiking guide in Embrun, I had the pleasure of accompanying many enthusiasts on the trails of Embrun, Serre-Ponçon, and the Hautes-Alpes. This season was simply exceptional : perfect weather, abundant sunshine, lush green landscapes, and breathtaking panoramas.
But now that the summer season is ending, the adventure continues… elsewhere! Time for hiking trips abroad to discover new horizons, experience longer treks and explore unique landscapes, always accompanied by a passionate guide.

Every summer, I have the pleasure of organizing guided tours of Turin to share my passion for this elegant Italian city, rich in history and culture. Throughout the summer season, we met every Saturdayto explore the beauties of Turin together, from its heritage sites and charming little streets to its delicious restaurants.
Last week was the last outing of the summer, and today I'm taking the time to reflect on this wonderful experience that delighted many participants.
Why Turin is worth visiting
When we think of Italy, we often picture Rome, Florence, or Venice. Yet Turin is a city that deserves to be discovered. Located in the heart of Piedmont, between mountains and plains, it combines the elegance of a royal capital with the authenticity of a city that still retains a human scale.
Turin is first and foremost a majestic historic center, with its grand squares like Piazza Castello, Piazza San Carlo, and Piazza Vittorio Veneto. It also boasts endless arcades that invite leisurely strolls, historic cafes where one can savor a bicerin (a traditional Turin wine), and an artistic richness that never fails to impress visitors.
During the visits, we also took the time to discover the more secret sides of Turin : the hidden courtyards, the baroque churches, or even those small alleyways where you encounter fewer tourists but where the soul of the city is truly revealed.
Friendly guided tours, every Saturday
Throughout the summer, we had a weekly meeting: every Saturday morning, we set off for Turin! The idea was to create a moment that was both cultural and warm, in small groups, so that everyone would feel comfortable.
Rather than simply showing off monuments, I wanted to offer a lively and interactive : historical anecdotes, accessible explanations, but also discussions and sharing. Many participants told me they appreciated this relaxed atmosphere, a welcome change from overly rigid or impersonal tours.
And since we were in small groups, it encouraged encounters and exchanges : over the course of the outings, a great camaraderie was created between the participants.
A rich experience… but affordable
What was important to me was to offer a quality experience without it being exorbitantly expensive. We know that some major tourist cities are becoming inaccessible for travelers who truly want to explore without breaking the bank. Turin, however, remains authentic and affordable.
During our visits, we were able to:
•admire artistic and architectural treasures,
• Stop for a coffee or ice cream without emptying your wallet,
• to fully enjoy a city rich in culture, but where everything remains at reasonable prices.
It was this combination – beauty, cultural richness and accessibility – that appealed to most of the participants.
The last outing of the summer
The end of the season was particularly wonderful. The sun was shining, and we once again explored the grand squares and lively little streets of Turin. It was an energetic visit, punctuated by laughter, discoveries, and great conversations.
Many participants told me they wanted to come back, some even as early as next year. It was a perfect way to say goodbye to summer, with the promise of new discoveries to come.
Turin: a city to keep in mind for your next getaways
Even though our Saturday get-togethers end with the summer, Turin remains an ideal destination all year round. Whether you're an art lover, a history buff, or simply curious about new atmospheres, the city always has something to offer.
And next summer, I'm already planning to relaunch these Saturday guided tours. With new routes, new anecdotes, and always the same spirit: sharing Turin in a different way, in a friendly and accessible atmosphere for everyone.
In summary
This summer, our guided tours of Turin every Saturday allowed many participants to discover an elegant, vibrant, and welcomingwithout breaking the bank. The last outing marked the end of a wonderful season of exploration, but it's already paving the way for new projects next year.
So, if you're looking for an authentic, cultural and affordable Italian getaway, put Turin on your list of upcoming destinations… and why not join us next summer for a new series of guided tours?
Turin, a jewel between the Alps and heritage
From the moment you arrive, Turin captivates with its elegant architecture. Strolling through the arcaded streets, admiring the Baroque facades, pausing in grand squares like Piazza Castello or Piazza San Carlo : the city reveals a refined and welcoming side. A walking tour of the historic center is ideal for soaking up the atmosphere.
Among the must-sees for a day trip, the Mole Antonelliana reigns supreme. This iconic building now houses the National Cinema Museum, a fascinating place for both enthusiasts and the simply curious. Its panoramic elevator offers breathtaking views of the entire city and the surrounding Alps.
Culture and history at the heart of Turin
Turin, often overlooked, boasts a rich cultural heritage. The Egyptian Museum of Turin (Museo Egizio) is one of the most important in the world after the one in Cairo. In a quick 1.5-hour visit, it's possible to discover mummies, sarcophagi, and unique archaeological treasures.
For history buffs, the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) bears witness to the city's prestigious past as the former capital of the Kingdom of Savoy. Its sumptuous interior, peaceful gardens, and royal chapel are must-sees.
A gourmet break and the Italian dolce vita
A day of sightseeing in Turin wouldn't be complete without a delicious break. First thing in the morning, a stop at a historic Turin café is a must: trying a bicerin, a local specialty made with coffee, chocolate, and cream, is a truly memorable experience. At midday, trattorias offer typical dishes like agnolotti or bagna cauda, accompanied by Piedmontese wines.
And for those with a sweet tooth, a visit to an artisanal ice cream shop or a traditional pastry shop allows you to savor Turin until the very last moment.
An ideal destination for a quick getaway
Thanks to its geographical proximity, its rich cultural offerings , and its elegant yet welcoming atmosphere, Turin is an ideal destination for a day trip. Whether you're a museum enthusiast, a history buff, or simply looking for a delicious meal in a beautiful setting, the city has everything to charm you.
In Queyras, I have the opportunity to take hikers from all walks of life to discover spectacular landscapes, unspoiled nature and a unique heritage.
Each day is different, but the spirit remains the same: to share, to pass on knowledge and to create an unforgettable mountain experience.
⸻
Serre-Ponçon and Embrun: hikes for all levels
At the foot of the Alps, Lake Serre-Ponçon and the town ofEmbrun offer an exceptional setting for hiking. Between the turquoise waters of the lake and the surrounding mountains, it's a perfect place to start an outing.
Every morning, when I meet up with my group, I adapt to their level and their desires:
• Accessible walks for those who want to enjoy the views at a leisurely pace,
• More athletic routes for those looking for a challenge.
In any case, the region abounds with suitable trails, alternating between forests, viewpoints, and spectacular views of the lake. Walking here is to experience the full richness of the Southern Alps.
The role of a hiking guide
Many people ask me: "Why hire a mountain guide when the trails are marked?"
The answer is simple: hiking with a guide changes everything.
My role is multifaceted:
•Ensure the group's safety , adapt the route, monitor the weather,
•to share my knowledge of local fauna, flora, geology and traditions,
•create a friendly atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable, regardless of their level.
Walking alone is pleasant. But hiking with others means discovering a thousand details that you wouldn't have seen, learning to observe differently, and above all, enjoying yourself without worrying about the organization.
The Queyras: a unique playground
Of all the outings I suggest, the Queyras remains a must-see. This unspoiled valley, nestled in a natural park, offers a great diversity of landscapes:
• authentic villages like Saint-Véran or Ceillac,
• Spectacular mountain passes with breathtaking panoramas,
• a wildlife , from marmots to birds of prey.
On a typical day, we might set off through flowery valleys, climb a pass and admire a magnificent view of the peaks, before descending gently back to a typical hamlet.
The Queyras is a living but accessible mountain, ideal for anyone who wants to feel the power of nature without necessarily going on an extreme expedition.
A day punctuated by conviviality
Hiking is not just about walking. It's also about taking the time to share.
I love organizing picnic breaks high in the mountains: everyone takes out some local specialties from their bag, and we chat over cheese, a piece of bread, or some dried fruit. It's often a highlight of the day, where hikers take the time to savor the scenery and talk.
These moments of conviviality make all the difference. Many participants tell me that, thanks to these short breaks, they feel not like they are in a structured activity, but in a real human adventure.
An experience accessible to all
You don't need to be a seasoned athlete to enjoy a day of hiking with a mountain guide. My job is precisely to adapt the outing: some days I guide families with children, other times regular walkers, or even groups looking to disconnect.
The mountains are for everyone, and my goal is for everyone to leave with positive memories and the desire to return.
Why choose to hike with me?
•A perfect knowledge of the terrain : I walk on these trails every day, I know their secrets.
•Personalized support : each outing is tailored to the group.
•An educational dimension : fauna, flora, alpine culture… every step becomes a discovery.
•A friendly spirit : because the mountain is even more beautiful when it is shared.
In conclusion
Every day spent in the mountains, between Serre-Ponçon, Embrun and the Queyras, is a new adventure. My role as a hiking guide is to offer participants much more than a simple walk: an immersion in a unique territory, a rich and accessible experience, and above all an unforgettable memory.
If you're looking to discover the Southern Alps in a different way, I invite you to come hiking with me. Together, we'll take the time to explore, learn, and fully enjoy the most beautiful things the mountains have to offer.
Last week was the last outing of the summer, and today I'm taking the time to reflect on this wonderful experience that delighted many participants.

Many participants told me they wanted to come back, some even as early as next year. It was a perfect way to say goodbye to summer, with the promise of new discoveries to come.

Summer is coming, and with it, a new season I always eagerly anticipate: mountain hiking. Every summer, the same pleasure arises when I lace up my hiking boots, rediscover the trails, and above all, share these moments in nature in a friendly atmosphere. This year again, I'm offering outings around Serre-Ponçon, in the Queyras and the Écrins massif, led by a hiking guide passionate and experienced
The call of the trails: accessible to all
Hiking is above all about taking the time to reconnect with nature, with yourself, and with others. You don't need to be an athlete to fully enjoy these outings. The routes are designed to suit different levels: some are gentle and contemplative, others a bit more athletic, but always accessible to those who love walking, discovering, and being amazed.
I place great importance on the group's pace, kindness, and the pleasure of walking together. The idea is not to break records, but to savor each step.
The wonders around Lake Serre-Ponçon
It's impossible to talk about hiking without mentioning the Serre-Ponçon. This corner of the Hautes-Alpes offers a striking contrast between the calm waters of the lake and the mountains that surround it. There's no shortage of routes: balcony trails, viewpoints overlooking the lake, panoramic ridges… There's always a breathtaking view around every bend.
Among my favorite routes, the Pic de Morgon remains a must-do, as does the Col de la Rousse loop or the trails around the Cirque de Bragousse. Each outing also offers the chance to observe local wildlife: marmots, eagles, chamois… if luck is on your side!
The Queyras: a wild and unspoiled gem
Hiking in the Queyrasis like stepping into a different world. Here, everything exudes authentic mountain charm: the perched villages with their slate roofs, the peaceful alpine pastures, the crystal-clear streams. It's a region I love to share with others, because it retains a true soul, far removed from mass tourism.
There, the routes allow for a variety of experiences: the climb to Lake Souliers, the GR58 trails, walks around Saint-Véran or Ceillac… Each outing is an opportunity to learn more about local history, pastoral traditions, and to enjoy magnificent panoramas in a serene atmosphere.
The Écrins: life-size
For those who dream of more imposing alpine landscapes, the Écrins is an ideal destination. This national park offers spectacular hikes, with breathtaking high-mountain scenery. Glaciers, snow-capped peaks even in summer, high-altitude mountain huts… everything here exudes adventure.
Among the outings I offer, some lead to Lake Eychauda, others to the Glacier Blanc or the Tourond valley. The effort is sometimes more strenuous, but it's well worth it. And again, everything is done in a friendly atmosphere, without pressure, with well-deserved breaks and warm exchanges.
Simple, genuine and friendly moments
What I love most about these outings, beyond the scenery, is the people I meet. Something special always happens when we walk together. Conversations arise naturally, the silences are rich too, and the breaks sometimes become the best memories: a picnic with a view of the mountains, an unexpected fit of laughter, a shared photo…
atmosphere simple and welcoming, where everyone feels free to be themselves. Whether you come alone, as a couple, with friends or family, there's always a place to share a good time on the trails.
A new season full of promise
season hiking is starting, and I'm ready to experience it to the fullest. Between Serre-Ponçon, the Queyras and the Écrins, the possibilities are endless, and each outing is a different adventure.
So if you're looking to get moving, breathe in the fresh air, and discover or rediscover the wonders of the Southern Alps, don't hesitate to join me for a hike. A backpack, good shoes, and the desire to enjoy yourself... that's all you need to get going.
There are adventures that call to us even before we begin. For some time now, I have been preparing for a new hiking trip that is particularly close to my heart: the Great Crossing of the Mercantour, a wild, challenging, and above all unforgettable route.
This project, which I will propose to you in the summer of 2026, is something special. We will set off on foot, backpacks on our backs, for a total immersion in the Mercantour National Park. And we will go all the way to the sea. Yes, literally: from the Alpine peaks to the Mediterranean coast, walking, stage by stage, self-sufficiently, and always accompanied by a hiking guide professional
An alpine crossing… but not only that
The Mercantour is more than just a picture-postcard setting. It's a rich, vibrant mountain range with striking contrasts. High-altitude lakes, larch forests, steep ridges, mountain sheepfolds, silence… and encounters with chamois if we're lucky. I designed this trip to experience all of that, unfiltered, without embellishment.
We'll sleep in bivouacs, sometimes in tents, sometimes simply under the stars, when conditions allow. This choice isn't insignificant: it changes everything. It transforms a simple hike into a life experience. We wake up with the sun, we walk with the weather, we cook together, we share genuine moments. The kind of things you never forget.
An arrival that makes sense
What I love about this trek is its central theme: it takes you from the heart of the Mercantour National Park all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. It's rare to be able to do that on foot. And I can tell you that after more than ten days of hiking, seeing the sea appear on the horizon… it's a powerful moment. You'll literally arrive with your feet in the water. A true reward.
See you in 2026
I'm telling you about this today because this trip is in preparation. It will be offered to a small group in the summer of 2026. The itinerary is being refined and tested in the field to guarantee you a smooth, well-paced, but always human adventure.
If you are looking for a hiking trip that is out of the ordinary, a truly unique experience, with meaning, effort, silence and sharing… then this one might be just what you're looking for.
👉 I will soon publish more information here on the blog: duration, level, recommended equipment, number of places, etc.

Saturday , I had the opportunity to lead a sunset hike organized by the Conscients Tissez. This event, far more than a simple walk in nature, was a profoundly enriching and captivating experience, blending spirituality, science, and natural beauty.
Under a clear blue sky, we began our group hike, guided by an atmosphere of sharing and curiosity. The Conscients Tissez association had invited two distinguished guests for the day: Philippe Guillemant, a physicist and researcher renowned for his work on consciousness and the physics of time, and Father Martin, a man of faith and wisdom, known for his ability to connect spirituality and human experience.
Throughout the day, the discussions were exceptionally rich. Philippe Guillemant shared his reflections on synchronicities, the nature of time, and the importance of intention in creating our reality. His words, at the crossroads of science and spirituality, opened many avenues for reflection. Alongside him, Father Martin spoke with simplicity and depth about the connection between faith, inner silence, and reconnection.
And to end the day, we arrived just in time to admire a magnificent sunset. The sky blazed with orange and purple hues, offering a breathtaking spectacle. Everyone absorbed the moment, the words heard during the walk, and the quiet power of nature.
Beyond the beauty of the landscape, it's the atmosphere of that day that remains etched in my memory: authentic encounters, uplifting discussions, and a profound sense of presence. The Conscients Tissez association created an environment conducive to awakening, reflection, and human connection.
I can only recommend participating in this type of event: whether you are passionate about nature, searching for meaning or simply curious, you will find something to nourish within yourself.

That's a wrap for the snowshoeing season – Time for treks and holidays!
This weekend, I had the pleasure of ending the snowshoeing with a group of young people from Beausset, in the Var.
We shared a beautiful winter outing, near the Queyras Regional Natural Park and not far from Serre-Ponçon, in a snowy setting still very much present despite the arrival of spring.
For these young people, it was often their first time experiencing the mountains under snow, on snowshoes. Curious and enthusiastic, they enjoyed every moment: the walk, the views, the freedom offered by this still wild nature.
A wonderful interlude, filled with laughter, effort, and disconnection.
This outing marks the end of the winter season, and with it, the beginning of a new period rich in adventures: that of treks, mountain stays and outdoor getaways.
The upcoming program promises to be varied, including multi-day hikes, bivouacs, all-inclusive stays and day trips.
Winter is ending, but the trails are opening up… and the adventure continues!
